our ethos

The Resonance Data Collective is a people of color- and woman-led consulting practice.

We believe that people have the expertise and lived-experience to define and lead the change they wish to see in the places where they live, work, and play. But, we know that the challenges of our times are complex — and that no one person or organization can do it alone.

That is why we conspire with grassroots and grasstops social innovators at the intersection of emergent learning and anti-oppression movements to power equitable, structural, and transformative change.

We help our clients address the structural inequities that lead to the unjust outcomes we see at the community and population levels. And, we do so by coaching them to weave stories, distill insights, and measure meaningful progress through surfacing and centering community wisdom and perspectives.

We believe change must be people-centered, community-led, and values-driven.

Our values

Humility

Authenticity

Justice

Mantras that guide how we work

Iteration, progress over perfection

Begin! Sprout! Rise! Emerge! Germinate! Let “good enough” fuel momentum, creativity, and iteration. Fail forward. Let go of perfection, so we may try, learn, and imagine.

Emergence and intentionality

Begin with the end in mind. Move not only with purpose, but also with an openness to all of the possibilities and pathways that may unfold.

Interdependence and collective care

Show up for each other as much as oneself. We are in this together. We lift as we climb.

Abundance and spaciousness

Nature provides for us. The Universe guides us. There’s enough on this Earth for all. Let us move through it individually and collectively.

Empathy, listening with all senses

Pay attention to both what is seen and unseen, said and unsaid, selectively known and collectively unknown. Create space for what lingers in liminal spaces to emerge into the light.

Heart-centered data

Center people — with all of our brilliance, cultural wisdom, embodied knowledge — in all things. Let the art and science of data be heart-centered.

These guiding principles were developed through reflection of the writings, teachings, and wisdom of Buddhism, Confucianism, Nonviolent Communication, adrienne marie brown, social and racial justice movements, and through introspection of ourselves in relation to our social and professional spheres, our ancestors and our cultural ways of being, and our hopes for this Earth and the beings that inhabit it.

How we collaborate

We listen

We listen for your values, underlying assumptions, and specific context. We’ll hold a mirror up. We’ll ask tough questions. And, we’re with you at each pivotal juncture.

We guide

We guide you to hold space, to surface tensions, and to navigate ambiguity and complexity on your journey towards equitable, structural, and transformative change.

We coach

We coach you to build evaluative muscles and mindsets among your team and within your organization. And, we equip you to confront your next big challenge.

  • "Trish collaborated with our coalition as we explored new ways to integrate racial equity into StriveTogether's data approach. She was instrumental in leading the research and developing the toolkit that shifted not only our team’s work but also served as a field-building resource. Trish is a thoughtful and collaborative partner with a tenacious commitment to operationalizing racial equity. I am grateful for her partnership."

Ritika Sharma Kurup, LISW-S, (former) Senior Director of Learning and Activation, StriveTogether

  • "Trish helped us design multiple internal strategy sessions that created space for the HRiA team to pause, assess, and take a deeper look at not only how, but why we do the work. Through her thoughtful approach to systems change and results-based accountability, Trish helped design strategy sessions that were critical to our team’s understanding of mental models, root causes, and actor mapping. Thanks, Trish, for being a great thought partner! We’re happy to be repeat clients to continue our partnership."
